As part of our commitment to transparency and protecting your property assets, we are informing you of a security incident that occurred on the platform of our booking software provider, Avantio.
1. Origin and Context of the Incident
On October 8 and 9, 2026, a cybersecurity incident affected Avantio, the software platform used by our agency to manage your property’s calendar and reservations. An unauthorized third party exploited a system vulnerability.
This vulnerability was identified and patched by Avantio on October 9. Our agency’s own systems suffered no intrusion.
2. Data Potentially Accessed
Because Avantio is unable to determine precisely which records were accessed, as a strict precautionary measure, we consider that certain information regarding your property may have been viewed:
- Your personal contact details: First name, last name, phone number, and email address;
- Property details: Property name, characteristics, and address;
- Associated booking information: Dates of stay and reservation amounts.
- Fully secure information: According to Avantio, no banking details (IBAN / routing numbers), no passwords, and no property access codes were exposed.
3. Impersonation Attempts and Vigilance Guidelines
These partial details could potentially be used by malicious individuals to attempt targeted fraud. We ask you to observe the utmost vigilance:
- No bank detail modifications via simple messaging: IBAÏA Real Estate will NEVER ask you to update your banking information or pay unexpected fees via a simple email, SMS, or WhatsApp message.
- Mandatory phone verification: Any unusual request (change of bank account, unexpected fees, account verification, urgent repair intervention at the property) must be verified by calling us on our usual phone number (never call the number provided in a suspicious message).
- Property visits: Please report any suspicious contact and do not permit any access or visit to your property on behalf of the agency without direct prior confirmation from our team.
4. Immediate Safeguards Taken by IBAÏA Real Estate
- Enhanced bank detail verification: Any future modification to your bank payout details will strictly require direct phone call confirmation before taking effect.
- Data Protection Authority (CNIL) notification: In accordance with GDPR requirements, a formal incident notification was submitted to the CNIL.
- Guest notification: All travelers associated with bookings have also been notified with tailored vigilance instructions.
